Ways to join our effort

Everyone—bishops, priests, religious and laity—is invited to share in the IRL's mission “to promote and support the consecrated life, particularly vowed religious life, as a gift to the entire Church and an evangelical witness to the world.”

By supporting the IRL, you participate in important programs, publications and other apostolic efforts:

• Religious Life magazine — a bimonthly publication helping to foster a more effective understanding and practice of the Church's teaching on the consecrated life. Receive it with your membership.


• National and regional meetings that annually gather together members and other like-minded persons.


• Books, leaflets and other materials as formational and devotional resources for individuals and religious communities.


• Web site: www.religiouslife.com
  an “information portal” for vocation promotion. It features the interactive Ministry Potential Discerner self-assessment survey.


• Vita Consecrata Institute — an intense summer program of renewal and graduate-level studies on the theology of the consecrated life.


• Sequela Christi/Consecrated Life — the official English translation of the Vatican's Sequela Christi, featuring papal addresses and scholarly studies, as well as documents and decrees of the Holy See.

Membership

IRL Associate Members are remembered daily in prayer by the IRL staff, and weekly in Masses offered for the special intentions of members and benefactors. Members also collectively share in the prayers and sacrifices of all our affiliated communities. Why You Should Belong

Vowed religious life and other forms of consecrated life are an integral, organic part of the Mystical Body of Christ. Whether we know it or not, the health and growth of all other parts of the Church depend upon the health and growth of this vital part. Our unity with those in consecrated life is a unique source of spiritual strength.
