Youth to Hear Panel of Priests and Religious at Saturday Session

Once again, teens and young adults (ages 13-30) are invited to attend Saturday’s general session—lunch included—free of charge as the
IRL’s guests. In the morning, the young people will join the general session, and in the afternoon they will gather for a separate breakout session. Here they will reflect upon the overall theme and in particular discuss the topic of vocational discernment. Sr. M. Stephania Newell, F.S.M.G., will speak and moderate a panel of priests and religious sharing the stories of their vocations.

Any young person interested in attending must pre-register by returning the registration form. Parish youth ministers, schools and other parties interested in registering as groups should contact Michael Wick at 877-267-1195 for more information.

Vatican Exhibit:
Eucharistic Miracles of the World

A selection of Eucharistic Miracles of the World will be on display during the 2007
National Meeting. Each display, with color photographs, artwork and text, highlights one of the many Church-approved Eucharistic miracles that have taken place in various countries of the world. A marvelous tool for catechesis on the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, this Vatican Exhibit will deepen your love for Our Eucharistic Lord and your desire to serve Him.

In our ever busy and constantly changing world, one cannot overestimate the value of prayer. For consecrated religious, spiritual exercises such as Mass, the Liturgy of the Hours, meditation and other types of prayer are essential to live out one’s commitment to know, love and serve the Lord with an “undivided heart.”

Consecrated men and women, indeed all baptized Christians, must be willing to devote adequate time and attention to prayer. Following the example of the blessed Virgin Mary, they must always be attentive to the movement of the Holy Spirit as they strive for a deep union with God and conformity to His will. Such spiritual intimacy is certain to lead to holiness, for it
opens them to a total and exclusive following of Jesus, and to complete availability to Christ's saving mission.
