PASSIONIST NUNS - Erlanger,
Kentucky
Cloistered Contemplatives

St. Paul of the Cross founded a community of Passionist
Nuns who were called to resemble "The Suffering Jesus and His Sorrowing
Mother" and, also, to sustain the apostolate of their Passionist
brothers by means of prayer and sacrifice.
By the grace of the Spirit, the Passionist
Nuns consecrate themselves totally to the Mystery of the Passion which
gives inspiration and unity to their lives.
As brides of the Crucified, their profound
longing is "to know Christ and the power flowing from His resurrection;
likewise to know how to share in His sufferings, by being formed into
the pattern of His death."
The Passionist Nuns seek to imitate Mary "who
devoted herself totally to the Person and work of her Son ... serving
the mystery of Redemption." In faith and obedience, they place
themselves at the service of the Church through their hidden lives of
poverty, prayer, solitude and penance so that all may share the fullness
of Redemption.
"I will try with all my strength to
follow the footsteps of my Jesus ... I will keep Him company faithfully
on Mount Calvary, and in a generous spirit, I will keep Him company on
the cross." [St. Paul of the Cross]
